John Copley returns to the London Coliseum to direct The Merry Widow
Final rehearsals are underway for John Copley’s new production of The Merry Widow which runs at the Coliseum from the 26th April to 30th May . John Copley is no newcomer to the English National Opera; he has already staged 13 new productions there, including the award-winning Julius Caesar which was recently revived at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. He has directed all the major British and American opera companies, as well as many in Germany, Canada, Greece and Australia. Amongst John Copley's most successful productions were Le Nozze di Figaro and Così Fan Tutte which remained in the repertoire for 21 and 24 years respectively. His hugely popular production of La Bohème is still in the repertoire after nearly 30 years.
