British tenor Daniel Norman joins Hazard Chase

Oxford based Daniel Norman is already an experienced concert singer who has worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, CBSO, Northern Sinfonia, BBC Philharmonic and the Nash Ensemble.  Operatic highlights have included Peter Quint The Turn of the Screw at Glyndebourne Festival, Scaramuccio Ariadne auf Naxos for the Opéra National de Paris, Bastille, Eurimaco Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria and Valetto L'Incoronazione di Poppea in Patria for the Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich, Mao Nixon in China for Opera Boston and Sam Kaplan Streetscene at the BBC Proms.

Daniel is also a keen recitalist and has appeared with Julius Drake at the Wigmore Hall (Schumann Lieder) and Anna Tilbrook at the Holywell Music Rooms in Oxford (Schubert Die schöne Müllerin).  He has also performed Die schöne Müllerin in Tel Aviv and returns to the Wigmore Hall in January 2008.

Daniel has made several recordings including four volumes of the Hyperion Schubert Edition with Graham Johnson, Beethoven 9th Symphony with the Minnesota Orchestra and Osmo Vänskä (Gramophone Editor’s Choice) Maintop in Billy Budd with Richard Hickox and the London Symphony Orchestra, Adès Powder Her Face on DVD, Slender in Sir John in Love by Vaughan Williams with Hickox and the Northern Sinfonia, Janacek Sedmdesat Tisic with the New London Chamber Choir, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Brett Dean’s Winter Songs with the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet and Hugh Wood’s Comus with the BBCSO and Sir Andrew Davies.
