Escher String Quartet joins Hazard Chase
Hazard Chase is delighted to announce representation of rising stars, the Escher String Quartet. Championed by members of the Emerson String Quartet and supported within the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society’s residency programme for young performers, the quartet’s mature performances belie their relative youth. Working closely with Kirshbaum Demler & Associates, Libby Percival will represent the quartet in Europe and Australasia.
David Finckel of the Emersons writes ‘From an inside-the-ensemble perspective, they have tackled and conquered the difficulties of quartet playing like no group I've ever seen. I'd have to go back to the early days of the Guarneri to find a group whose mastery of quartet technique excites me on such a visceral level. I think that they have now the best chance to maintain the trajectory they have been on, and need only the opportunities to perform in the best situations to not only deepen their artistry, but to share it with the world.’
The quartet has already performed at prestigious venues and festivals around the world, performances have included Alice Tully Hall, the 92nd Street Y and Symphony Space in New York, Gardner Museum Boston, the Louvre, Ravinia and Caramoor Festivals, Music@Menlo, La Jolla SummerFest and the Rhinebeck Chamber Music Society.
The Escher String Quartet takes its name from Dutch graphic artist M.C. Escher inspired by Escher’s method of interplay between individual components working together to form a whole.
‘Finely honed technique and a focused ensemble blend are this group's strong suits... a dark ambrosial brew all its own.’
