The Endellion String Quartet to celebrate 30th Anniversary with a release on the Warner Classics label

After the completion of their 25th Anniversary year the Endellion String Quartet began, in January 2005, to record a Beethoven cycle for Warner Classics in time for their 30th anniversary in 2009; as Quartet in Residence they will also be helping to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the University of Cambridge. This major project involves a total of ten CDs covering all the String Quartets, String Quintets and a number of rarely heard quartet and quintet fragments and has been generously supported by The Stradivari Trust. UK release is scheduled for September 2008.

Other anniversary projects include an exciting and innovative collaboration with Roxanna Panufnik and Wendy Cope, six quartettini commissioned from Robin Holloway as well as involvement in Phil Grabsky’s new film, ‘In Search of Beethoven’.  Their 30th Anniversary season includes a concert series at the Wigmore Hall, a series of performances of Haydn’s Last Words with Poet Laureate, Andrew Motion, their Japanese and Korean debuts and concerts throughout Europe, Asia and the US.
