Endellion String Quartet at Wigmore Hall
This popular quartet commence their anniversary celebrations at Wigmore Hall on 28 October performing Britten’s searching and inward last quartet which they have recorded to great acclaim and also Mozart K456 ‘Dissonance’ and Beethoven Op. 59 No.2 Razumovsky. The Endellion's birthday concert is on 20 January 2009 and booking opens on 3 November – the quartet are sharing their 30th anniversary in 2009 with the 800th anniversary of the University of Cambridge where they are Quartet in Residence. In recognition of this and the group’s commissioning associations the concert includes Arcadiana, written for the quartet by Cambridge alumnus Thomas Adès.
