Distinguished British bass-baritone joins Hazard Chase
Andrew Greenan studied at St John's College, Cambridge and subsequently at the Royal Northern College of Music. He made his operatic debut at La Scala, Milan in Die Glückliche Hand and has since appeared at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Glyndebourne and made guest appearances in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Geneva, Hamburg, Bregenz, Barcelona, Nancy, Brussels and Vienna. In the US he has appeared at the Met, New York, San Francisco Opera, Seattle and Pittsburgh and has worked with such conductors as Pappano, Haitink, Davis, Dohnanyi, Mackerras, Runnicles, Elder, Hickox, de Waart, Slatkin and Rizzi.
Andrew's large operatic repertoire includes Ochs Der Rosenkavalier, Biterolf Tannhäuser, Heinrich Lohengrin, King Mark Tristan und Isolde, Vodnik Rusalka, Daland Der Fliegende Holländer, Timur Turandot and Bottom A Midsummer Night's Dream. Andrew is currently singing the title role Falstaff for the National Theatre in Prague and future engagements include Superintendant Budd Albert Herring (Opéra Comique, Paris) and Klingsor Parsifal (Geneva).
