With just twenty-four hours notice, Viviane Hagner leapt to the rescue of the Cleveland Orchestra last Sunday in a concert at the Blossom Festival, replacing violinist Christian Tetzlaff who was forced to withdraw at short-notice due to travel difficulties. Despite an adventure-filled journey to Cleveland and very little rehearsal time, Hagner gave a stunning and impassioned  performance of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the Cleveland Orchestra under the baton of David Zinman, which was warmly received by both audience and critics alike, with critic Zachary Lewis from Cleveland .com  commenting that ‘[where] many soloists might have been content under such conditions to simply read through the score, Hagner delivered an honest-to-goodness interpretation, and a gutsy one at that, a perfect storm of passion, power, and technical wizardry.’

Hagner has since returned to Marlboro Music where she is currently mentoring on the chamber music course.
