Hazard Chase at the 2008 BBC Promenade Concerts

Once again, Hazard Chase has a very strong presence at the BBC Proms with over ten of its artists involved in performances. Two of Hazard Chase's vocal groups will be performing early on in the season; like last year, The Tallis Scholars will be taking part in a late night  Prom on the 22nd July at the RAH performing works by Obrecht and Josquin des Prez and, on the 28th at Cadogan Hall, I Fagiolini (directed by Robert Hollingworth) and Barokksolistene will be performing works by Monteverdi.
 
Hazard Chase's vocal department are also strongly represented at this year's Proms. On the 31st July Marie Arnet will be taking the part of Drusilla in Monteverdi's 'L'incoronazione di Poppea' at the RAH. In August, Barbara Frittoli will take the lead role of Giorgetta in Puccini's 'Il tabarro' and on the 26th Louise Poole will perform in Vaughan Williams'  'Serenade to Music' with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Finally, on the 12th September, Emma Bell will perform in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, 'Choral' with the City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus and the BBC Philharmonic.
 
Hazard Chase's instrumentalists come to the fore in August with performances by Michael Collins (clarinet) on the 9th and Danjulo Ishizaka (cello) on the 19th at the RAH. Michael Collins will be performing Stravinsky's 'Ebony Concerto' and Bernstein's 'Prelude, Fugue and Riffs' and Danjulo Ishizaka will be performing Messiaen's 'Concert a quatre' with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
 
Renowned Sitar player, Nishat Khan, will be taking part in a late night  Prom on the 1st September at the RAH. This  Prom includes motets and chansons by Claude Le Jeune, Antonie Brumel and Claudin de Sermisy interspersed by Indian ragas and a work by Messiaen performed by the BBC Singers.
 
Huw Watkins' BBC commission 'Sad steps' will receive its world premiere on the 8th September at Cadogan Hall as part of a lunchtime chamber music  Prom.
 
Hazard Chase is also represented at the Hyde Park Proms in the Park / Last Night of the Proms by Martin Yates (conductor). Martin Yates will be joined by Jose Carreras and Lesley Garrett and the evening will be presented by Sir Terry Wogan.
