Hilliard Ensemble and Jan Garbarek at St Paul’s Cathedral
The Hilliard Ensemble and Jan Garbarek came together again at St Paul’s Cathedral to present their latest version of Officium for the City of London Festival. Performed to a sell-out crowd who gave them a standing ovation, the press (from both classical and jazz worlds) were equally enthusiastic with the Guardian writing “the 2009 edition of the Officium project sounds ever more like a profound meeting of hearts and minds” and the Evening Standard “a cross-cultural combination that produces some of the most beautiful acoustic music ever made”.
