Katherine Manley CD release
Recorded in St George's Church, Hanover Square, this live recording taken from the London Handel Festival in 2008 features Katherine Manley in the role of Achsah. Cast also includes Alexandra Gibson, Allan Clayton and George Humphreys. Laurence Cummings conducts the London Handel Orchestra & Singers.
Originally performed in 1748, the oratorio was revised by Handel in 1752 to the version most commonly heard today. This recording is the first complete recording of the version first heard in 1748.
