Hazard Chase announce European representation of Alexander Mickelthwate

In a career that has developed rapidly and with wide support, Alexander Mickelthwate has been Assistant Conductor of the Atlanta Symphony and the Associate Conductor with the Los Angeles Philharmonic - making numerous appearances with the latter at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. He has also guested with a number of major orchestras, including the Baltimore Symphony, Chicago Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, NDR Symphony, Stuttgart Radio Symphony, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo and Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Recognised as one of the most exciting young conductors around, Alexander has made a major impact in his first two seasons in Winnipeg, raising the orchestra's profile through innovative programming and active community engagement. Praised for his "splendid, richly idiomatic readings" (LA Weekly) "fearless approach" and "first-rate technique" (Los Angeles Times) he has also attracted attention for his charismatic stage presence and his command of a wide range of musical styles.

James Brown, Managing Director of Hazard Chase comments, "When I saw Alexander work for the first time, it took me a very short time to recognise that here was an outstanding talent, both technically and musically. Further, he is a conductor of genuine charm and charisma. I would like to have played for him, although I would probably have enjoyed it more than he would have!"
