Jennifer Pike honoured with London Music Masters Award
Hazard Chase violinist, Jennifer Pike, is one of three winners of the London Music Masters Award. In its inaugural year, London Music Masters has honoured three violinists with the award, created with them by the world renowned Russian-Israeli violin pedagogue Itzhak Rashkovsky. Conceived as a comprehensive and supportive award to assist the development of young violinists, the prize offers a programme of performances, including an initial performance at Wigmore Hall on 22 October 2009, financial support and individual mentoring for the artists from key figures from within the music industry.
London Music Masters is a registered charity with two main strands to its activities - the LMM Awards and the LMM Bridge Project. The charity’s aim is to complete the cycle from early inspiration to life-long aspiration - inspiring primary school children and assisting emerging professional musicians. One of LMM’s primary goals is to address the under-representation of ethnic and socio-economic diversity amongst musicians in professional music ensembles: a key element of the award winners' role whilst working with London Music Masters will be their involvement in the charity's innovative Bridge Project.
