Buxton FestivalDavid Kempster sings Nottingham in Roberto Devereux. It is his debut in the role, which he will sing for Dallas Opera in 2009. Also at Buxton Mark Le Brocq appears as King Bobeche in Offenbach's Barbe-Bleu.

Christopher Purves sings the bass arias in Glyndebourne's new staging of the St Matthew Passion, with performances through to the end of August. Anne-Marie Owens returns as Mrs Grosse in Turn of the Screw.

James Gilchrist appears in Haydn's The Seasons on July 23, with Sir Roger Norrington. The performance will be broadcast live on Radio 3 and BBC Four. James can also be heard singing Schubert's Mass in B flat major with Collegium Musicum 90 and Richard Hickox in a late night Prom on July 25.
