Singers - Who to see this Summer...

Festival performances, recordings and broadcasts throughout Summer 2007 involving Hazard Chase singers.

Buxton Festival
David Kempster sings Nottingham in Roberto Devereux.  It is his debut in the role, which he will sing for Dallas Opera in 2009.  Also at Buxton Mark Le Brocq appears as King Bobeche in Offenbach's Barbe-Bleu.
 
Glyndebourne Festival
Christopher Purves sings the bass arias in Glyndebourne's new staging of the St Matthew Passion, with performances through to the end of August.  Anne-Marie Owens returns as Mrs Grosse in Turn of the Screw.
 
Edinburgh Festival
Giselle Allen appears as Eleonora in Salieri's Prima la Musica e poi le Parole with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Nicholas McGegan.
 
Salzburg Festival
Ryland Davies sings Triquet in Eugene Onegin with Daniel Barenboim conducting.
 
BBC Proms
James Gilchrist appears in Haydn's The Seasons on July 23, with Sir Roger Norrington.  The performance will be broadcast live on Radio 3 and BBC Four.  James can also be heard singing Schubert's Mass in B flat major with Collegium Musicum 90 and Richard Hickox in a late night Prom on July 25.

Triennale
Finnur Bjarnason will appear as Tristan in Willy Decker's production of Le vin herbé.
 
Recordings
Late June saw the release of 'On Wenlock Edge' (Linn Records), featuring James Gilchrist, Anna Tilbrook and the Fitzwilliam Quartet.  The recording also includes Warlock's The Curlew and Gurney's Ludlow and Teme.
