Candida Thompson joins Hazard Chase
Candida Thompson has been the Artistic Director and Leader of the Amsterdam Sinfonietta since 2003. The String Orchestra of twenty-two players, performs under her guidance with the conviction that similarly minded players are stronger as a group if each individual upholds their responsibility. Candida Thompson’s recent releases with the Amsterdam Sinfonietta have received high praise, with the Beethoven and Walton release being chosen as CD of the month in Gramophone magazine, and also as BBC Recording of the Week. Having been involved with chamber music and string orchestras throughout her career, Candida Thompson has directed orchestras extensively in Europe.
