Musical Myths

Musical Myths

Illustrated stories for children, with narrator and orchestra.

Premiered in December 2017, The Nutcracker transports us to a magical land full of fantastical characters.  In this delightful new telling, the adventures of little Mary and her toy nutcracker are combined with Tchaikovsky’s much-loved ballet suite, uniting narrator and orchestra to bring the story vividly to life for children of all ages.

The Nutcracker can be performed using the existing orchestral suite Op 71a, or parts for a slightly reduced chamber orchestra version (corresponding exactly to the orchestration of Howard Blake’s score for The Snowman film) can be hired from Music Link International.

Premiered by the Orchestra of Opera North in December 2017, this fun new production of Cinderella retells arguably the most famous fable ever written by uniting Prokofiev’s brilliant ballet score with a sharp, witty script in rhyming couplets and colourful, stylish imagery.

Mash Productions’ Cinderella is performed using movements from Prokofiev’s orchestral suite No 1, Op. 107.
