Are you ready to witness the shocking truth of how a recording is produced?
Have you ever wondered what soloists and conductors really think of each other?
Do you want to see how musical auditions are really decided?
Gidon Kremer, Kremerata Baltica and the comedy duo Igudesman and Joo invite you on a hugely entertaining and hilarious journey through a hall of mirrors to experience for yourself the weird and wonderful ways in which the languages of music and humour can combine in the modern world.
Gidon’s own career serves as our inspiration and our starting point. Some parts of the show are biographical, other parts are fictional but informed by Gidon’s own experiences. Much of the music performed has been featured in well-known (and in some cases less well-known) films.
We live in an age in which the market economy holds sway over art. We squint at the sales statistics and chart placements. Everyone wants to be a superstar. Do we all too often lose sight of the true meaning of music: the uplifting union of feeling and intellect, the intimate and profoundly emotional expression of the soul?
Without music life would be a mistake Friedrich Nietzsche
