Premiere of Hartmann’s SIMPLICIUS SIMPLICISSIMUS

Known for their adventurous productions of rare opera, Independent Opera presents the UK premiere of Karl Amadeus Hartmann’s SIMPLICIUS SIMPLICISSIMUS from 11 – 19 November at Sadler’s Wells Theatre. Among the cast are a number of Hazard Chase artists:

William Dazeley (Soldier)
Adrian Thompson (Hermit)
Tristan Hambleton (Sergeant)
Mark Le Brocq (Governor)
The opera is sung in a new English translation by David Pountney, and directed by Polly Graham. Timothy Redmond conducts the Britten Sinfonia.
