Grant Llewellyn joins the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and musician-presenter Andy Pidcock for the BBC’s first ever Relaxed Prom this weekend. Welcoming children and adults with autism, learning disabilities and sensory impairments, the prom is designed to provide a fun, inviting and interactive musical experience for all, including music by Rimsky-Korsakov and Johann Strauss, Pharell Williams’ ‘Happy’ and the ‘Doctor Who’ theme tune.

The BBC Prom follows relaxed concerts held by the team in Wales earlier this month and Grant speaks of the experience in putting this concert together:

“It’s been a real labour of love, a mission, to try and cultivate a repertoire and a language of communication and presentation for our audiences that incorporates this wonderful world… I certainly have learnt about the nature of direct communication, and entertainment, and just unadulterated fun through music.”

The Relaxed Prom (Prom 19) will be held at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday 29 July.
