This month sees Sylvain Cambreling return to Japan to give his final concerts as the Principal Conductor of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. This is a position he has held since April 2010.
He will give 6 concerts during this period conducting works by Ibert, Debussy. Messiaen and Grisey. Schoenberg’s Gurre-Lieder is also performed at Suntory Hall featuring a line up of world class soloists.
Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Sarah Louvion also appear as soloists performing Messiaen’s Sept Haïkaï, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no.3 and Ibert’s Flute Concerto respectively.
Sylvain will continue working with the orchestra each season as Conductor Laureate.
