Having left an “excellent impression” (El País) with his Madrid recital debut last October, Benjamin Grosvenor returns to Spain’s capital this week for three performances with the National Spanish Orchestra. In their first collaboration Benjamin and conductor Krzysztof Urbanski will bring Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor Op. 15 to their audiences, a concerto which Benjamin has previously performed with orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
Benjamin will be back in Spain next month as part of a European recital tour which takes him to Munich’s Herkulessaal, Milan’s Sala Verdi, Paris’ Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Barcelona’s Palau de la Música Catala and London’s Barbican among others.
