Conductor Grant Llewellyn is in New York this weekend to conduct the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at the Caramoor Centre for Music and the Arts. Llewellyn is joined by pianist Jonathan Biss to perform Caroline Shaw’s Watermark, a new work co-commissioned by Caramoor and making its New York debut. Also co-commissioned by the North Carolina Symphony, as Music Director Llewellyn has been instrumental in the work’s exposure, having previously conducted two concerts in Raleigh to close the North Carolina Symphony’s 2018-2019 season. Including Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3 in C minor, the piece which inspired Shaw’s work, the concert concludes with Mozart’s Symphony No.38 in D major “Prague” and takes place on 7th July.
