Internationally popular pianist Piers Lane is spending most of November in Australia where he will be performing solo recitals in Brisbane and Montsalvat, as well as premiering a new work by Elena Kats-Chernin with the Nexas Quartet in Sydney.
Piers will also be playing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in Melbourne with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Sir Andrew Davis. These concerts will be Sir Andrew Davis’ final subscription concerts as Chief Conductor of the MSO and are sure to be very special dates. The concert on the 23rd November will be recorded for delayed broadcast on ABC Classical FM on the 1st December and the 18th January.
