Throughout this month contralto Jess Dandy appears with Sir John Eliot Gardiner and his Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, where she joins the orchestra on their large-scale tour of Beethoven’s complete symphonies in celebration of the composer’s 250th anniversary.
Jess, along with fellow soloists Lucy Crowe, Ed Lyon and Tareq Nazmi, and the Monteverdi Choir, will perform in his final 9th symphony, starting at Barcelona’s Palau de la Música Catalana this Friday. The tour then moves to the United States where Jess makes her Carnegie Hall debut on February 24th, before proceeding to Chicago’s Harris Theater on the 27th. Jess then returns to the U.S later this May, as Eduige in Handel’s Rodelinda on tour with the English Concert, with performances in New York, New Jersey and Los Angeles.
